In the video they absolutely abuse the crap out of the weapon.
Fill it with sand and fill it with water.
It fired perfectly and accurately after being pulled from both the water and the sand. It also managed to shoot off 100round whilst being rotated 360 degrees (Clip facing up, then right, then down, then left, then up) without a single jam.
They also showed the heat transfer of the gun, after going through about 100Rounds, you could see the heat just rolling out of the barrel, he then pops open the gun, pulls out the firing pin/bolt and holds it. The guy states "This is stone cold!"
But, it is its complete modular design that is pure win.
It goes from being an SMG, to an Assault Rifle, to a Sniper Rifle. The barrel is apparently easy to swap out with a shorter or longer barrel. They also showed how a 40mm Grenade Launcher (1st picture, what looks like a holstered pistol) was just slipped on/off with complete ease.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Grenade Launcher could be used individually.
And yes, it's based off of the M4 Carbine, In a choice between the M4A1 and HK 416/417. I'd choose the HK 416. The ability to swap from long range 600+ meters, to CQB without having to lug around 2 weapons w/ different ammo is pure win.
