Yes, you heard right ... I'm back and full of anti-Telstra vengeance. Opfor is going down ...
Now all I have to do is wait for this silly patch to download ... then it's all on like Donkey Kong.

Good to see ya back.
Glad to see you didn't rush in on the ADSL bandwagon, like everyone else.
Yep, TELSTRA - what can I say - I feel your pain, still can't get ADSL where I am.
TELSTRA countrywide tell me it is too expensive to update our lines from the current pair gain system to one that will allow ADSL.
They tell me it is not economic (cost about $500,000 in 2004 to do the whole exchange or 2weeks wages for the CEO ).
I know TELSTRA is doing it tough, only $4 billion profit this year.
They said that was a lot of $29.95 accts they needed to make it work.
WTF - who signs up for a $29.95 account these days anyway.
I think they are worried if they upgrade, no one will sign up with them - I know I wouldn't
Have had to go with a wireless connection.
Enough of my ranting. Good to see ya back.
As Sniper said, may have to come back myself. Been doing the COD4 thing the last few months.
I don't know if we have ever played online together, I am only new here joined FEB 2006 , so you may well have been offline before I joined.

The point is bungy Its not the $29.95 accounts that hurt. Its the $3.50 ones the ACCC force telstra to give to other service providers. THe ACCC need to have a long close look at the current system. They chose not to regulate the mobile network and look at how much competition there is in that!!! 4 competing networks in all the capital cities and we even get Optus here is Townsville. And all because Mr Samuel decided not to regulate mobile phones. Optus has proven it has the ability to build a network so the ACCC needs to stop Optus from having below cost access to Telstra's network to encourage them to increase their own network. We're not going to see hide nor hair of the NBN for at least a couple of years and then it'll still be 5 years till it will be rolled out even in the major cities. Plenty of time to recoup costs, especialy if they use Telstra's inter-exchange network, which would be wise since their own attempts are 'urine' poor (just look at the Gold Coast debacle. No protection on the backbone of their entire network and only one faulty backup)ADF-BUNGY wrote:Good to see ya back.
