1st Test Over - Aussie's Win
Well, the 1st Test is done and dusted - Australia wins by 277 runs.
I just spent the last 5 days at the Gabba, sitting in the sun, getting sunburnt, drinkin' piss, sharing dodgey ancestry stories with our english visitors, sang a few songs, avoided getting thrown out by the fun police, all in all a good time was had by all.
Paid me $20 bucks for todays ticket (day 5 didn't go on sale until yesterday afternoon) and it was all over in 90 minutes...hahahaa only had time for a quick fire half dozen beers during play today....ahh well.
Anyway, I had a nice quiet seat down in bay 30 for the first 4 days with the Fanatics (nice bunch of aussies fans) and had a few beers, sang some songs, we even managed to watch some cricket.
We also exchanged some friendly banter with the Barmy Army - they were in the next bay. They were whinging, as usual, about the weather, the beer, the food, the fun police throwing out their trumpet player (he wasn't that good anyway), the list goes on...but they have to keep themselves amused as their team loses yet another test match.
I must say I admire their ticker, if Australia lost as many test matches as the Poms do...I would have given up on them years ago...hahaha, but the english fans continue living in hope that one day their team will actually win something.
Sure they have the ashes at the moment, but I reckon our boys lost it on purpose last series so the Poms would come out here for this series, and to make it worthwhile for us aussie fans going to watch as our boys give them a flogging as we retake the ashes.
Not bad for a bunch of convicts...hahahaa
Adelaide starts on Friday.....for those interested
I will post some pics of the action (both on and off the pitch) in the next few days.....
Time for sleep......been a big few days for this old timer....

I would, but don't know how to host on the website.
Mickey, I was an Air Force Photographer for 13 years (1985-1998). So I had plenty of practice photographing fast jets and such.
I got out for a number of reasons, but one was, I felt I had photographed my share of dead servicemen.
I was in Townsville during the Blackhawk crash...lots of fun there... NOT!!!
