Sound card

Guys,
I understand a few of you lads ar the shizz when it comes to pc hardware and stuff.
Was wondering if you could help me out
Am looking at moving from on board sound to dedicated sound card - I mainly play aa, bf2 etc
from my squizz at the net there seems to be 2 main choices:-
1. razer barracuda AC1; and
2. creative x-fi xtreme
Have you guys had any exp with these card or have a definite recommendation

I don't think a human ear could tell the difference. Sound cards are pretty much %100 now.

do you think that it would make a difference in a game like aa (which is based on an older engine)?

forget the sound card, i just use the on board but use the money on a good set of surround sound headphones.; seriously they will make a world of difference in game.

creative x-fi xtreme all the way

although they are the same i would go for a good surround sound headphones and soundcard because of more fps in games.

If you decide to go Razer, you might as well get the Razer headsets as well.

I got a good headset (i think) it is a Sennheiser PC161 - so dont really want to spend $150 on another headset
so looks like the x-fi xtreme is the go

I must be honest i heard the setup for tuna's new pc and i was quite impressed with the sound and clarity it put out...i wouldn't bother with a sound card if you have a fairly new system but in saying that it all so lessons the load on your pc a little as well....just have to way up the price verse performance i guess.....

I would buy a setup Cable has, you can hear every sound and it would bring the feel of the game to life. Don't be surprised if the cops turn up at your front door
