AA3 - NEW Patch - 3.0.5

Post by ADF-BUNGY »

Now available via Steam and Deploy is the latest AA3 patch which will further enhance game-play and make it easier to join servers.

America's Army patch version 3.0.5 includes the following changes:

* More messaging when unable to connect to server for particular circumstances like full servers, etc.
* More enhancements to PunkBuster implementation.
* Adds in switching viewpoints during pb validation and adds in messaging to let player know something is happening.
* Streamlined the server connect
* Adjusted the ftmp cleanup logic so it works properly on the server.
* New Auth SDK that fixes MBS query issues, several crashes, and memory leaks.
* Better feedback to players kicked from training due to not being qualified.
* Fixes to player count in Internet Browser
* Fix for HUD decrementing frag grenade round display when 320 ammo types are switched.
* Frag grenade load out fixes
* Cleanup of client stat file on start up so bad stats won't hang players joining training.
* Removes "player didn't play in round" debugging message from logs
* Fixes the mission lost statistic indicating the status of the player at the end of the round
* Adjustments to clan tag support to allow use of a prefix (+ is add it as a suffix, - add as prefix, and anything else uses the "of xxx" format from 3.0.4).
* Prevent going prone while tossing a grenade
* Report full server to user message and bad/wrong password to user in message box after being kicked from server
* Adds in ability to left click on a server in MBS and have its information updated if it hasn't been updated recently (in last 10 minutes).
* Adds new message box if the connection times-out so user knows what happens if they step away and the client fails to connect to the server.
* Added pbsetup and a simple batch wrapper to call necessary commands to setup a system for using PB (Binaries\pbsetup_help.bat).

get used to it.

AA2 had numerous patches over the years.

But, if a patch improves gameplay - then it is all good.

yer aa did have a lot of patches at the start, but ver 3 was pushed out to quickly, beta wasn't done for long 2-3 weeks only so they couldnt find all the bugs and they fired the dev team. to me it was to soon to release aa3. the original aa was at least playable and you could find servers with out a problem from the start, a simple thing like that should have never occoured.the game now should be finishing beta now. thats what im saying.

Bauto,

I can see your point, and I agree with most of what you have said.

The Closed Beta went for about 3-4 months actually.

It was announced in the AA forums in NOV-DEC I think.
Then started in JAN.

The Fileplanet open Beta was only a couple of weeks before the actual release.

Yes, it has it's problems...as do many games on release.
Beta testing won't catch all the problems, it will only catch the major ones.
But Beta testing is only as good at the people doing the testing.
If they don't file their bug reports then the bugs won't get fixed.
For those chosen as testers, it is a lot of work and time to invest.
I think a lot just wanted to be Beta testers so they could get the icon in the forums, and did not take their responsibilities seriously in regards to the actual testing. Hence, the poop we have now.

They (the Devs) are punching out the patches as fast as they can. I for one am happy with the progress.

It hasn't upset as much as it has others, from reading their rants in the AA forums [smilie=laugh[2].gif]

In the end, I think it will be worth the inconvenience we have had to put up with. [smilie=smiley_abzv[1].gif]
