MD5TOOL and other kicks

Post by Fox »

Hi,

I've recently been getting kicked for "ignoring MD5Tool Queries" from every server. This has only been like that since a PB update which hasn't been fixed yet.

Some servers have also been crashing, but I believe there's an update for that now.
Tuesday 12.11.2007 [2:15PM]

Version 1.620 of the PB Server for AA has been released to our PB Master Servers for auto-update and to our website download page. This version addresses a crash issue on some servers.
Anyway, I've been searching to fix this problem, and finally found a solution on the AAO Tracker Forums. You actually have to follow the following steps.

1. Uninstall America's Army
2. Delete the remaining America's Army folder and it's contents
3. Reboot
4. Install America's Army + relevant patches
5. Run a manual, out of game, PB update (America's Army->System->PB Installer)
6. Optimize AA using Deano's guide http://203.88.118.161/~nathum/ADFTEAM/m ... pic&t=2443
7. Do the registered name thing by opening the console (press `) and then typing in the code which can be found here http://203.88.118.161/~nathum/ADFTEAM/m ... topic&t=89

8. Have fun and play :D

This has so far worked for me, I only got kicked once because I actually forgot to do the registered name. Also, if you tweak AA, you cannot minimize AA/not play in full screen mode. This will cause AA to crash. It didn't crash for me per se, but it did kick me from game for MD5Tool.

Hope this helps. A few of you might be having this problem, I know Denis said he was.

Fox out.

you need to go into your aa folder and find the aao exe file and right click>properties>compatability and put a tick in the run as admin. thin search for pnkbstra.exe and pnkbstrb.exe and do the same for them.

Or you can just disable it so it never asks it again for any program.

Also, about the optimizing.... I found that it actually decreases my FPS by a good 10-15. So I have reverted the optimizing (with the backup of ArmyOps.ini I had and now I get much less lag, and a good steady 60 FPS :D

Are you an admin on your computer or not? If not, log in as admin and do it :)

Also, you should really turn it off, it kept on asking me to give permission whenever I opened TS or AA, so yeah I turned it off.

This reminds me, watch this :D

I'm not sure on that one Jamie... have you tried:

1. Rebooting AA (only the game)
2. Rebooting PC
3. Rebooting Modem + Router + PC

This usually works for me, but it's a pain in the butt to do :P

Also have you tried reinstalling AA? It's worth it if you've got the install file.

LOL popup :)

Nah but mine just started kicking me again a few days ago, I ran my ISP to see if there were problems down at their end (eg. line, exchange, etc..) and all the tests turned out fine. They asked me if I had rebooted the modem + router, and I said yes and that it didn't make a difference. So then they asked me if I was willing to reset my modem and router, so I'd loose all the settings. I did that (pretty much got rid of the AA port forwarding, and encryption on my wireless) and AA works fine now. Vista had some trouble reconnecting to the network because it suddenly thought my router was an access point.... XP had no trouble at all.

So yeah... RESET your modem + router to the factory settings :) Worked for me so far, was actually able to play yesterday.

Also another tip on reducing lag...

1. Open console by pressing `
2. Type, without talking marks, 'pb_sleep 500'
3. Hit enter
4. Open console again and type 'pb_writecfg'
5. Hit enter

What this does is set the PB scan time to every 500 seconds instead of the default 20 seconds. Technically this should reduce the amount of lag that you get. The 'pb_writecfg' command is used so it saves your new setting(s), means that you dont have to type it every time you play.

Cheers,

Fox
