24" Monitors

Post by ADF-BUNGY »

I don't want this to degenerate into a pissing contest as to who has the best monitor. [smilie=laugh[2].gif]

Anyway, after much deliberation and checking available funds in the bank account, I finally joined the 21st century and bought a 24" monitor.

My original choice was the Dell 24" Ultra Sharp @ $799.00.

But in the end I purchased a BenQ E2420HD for $269.00 from UMart. Link -->

I will post some thoughts after I have used it for a few games. So far, not bad - bang for buck pretty good.

Edit: I double checked the invoice, Monitor $269.00 Freight $20.00, adjusted price above. [smilie=Bolt.sml[1].gif]

I got a new system recently and went with the Dell UltraSharp U2410, and no complaints so far.. took a little while to get used to all the extra real estate [smilie=laugh[2].gif]

Cheers

BenQ is a nice monitor mate.

Fuddster ended up with a BenQ, I was a tad envious.
Chris aka FDG Stitch was a top bloke and we gamed for many years with him.. so sad to hear the news today (23-09-2018), only a couple years older than me..(ADF-Cheech) LIFE is SHORT...May Stitch rest in peace, condolences to his family and his friends here and beyond ADFTEAM.

Looks nice Bungy! I've been using my old 19" Dell monitor for around 5 years or so i think.. Might be longer but I don't care, It's big enough for me heh.

Maybe down the track I'll look at a bigger monitor but for now this 19" will do the trick for me. MADOZ MADOZ

Snake,
My old Phillips 19" monitor is still going strong. I may hook it up as a second monitor on my sytem. But, I might need a bigger GC to run them both.
I have a ATI 4850 512mb card at the moment.

Squirrell,
A quick search shows the retail price range: $555.50 to $702.00
Not alot of reviews, but, the ones I did find said it performed well (Modern Warfare 2, etc)
Many are using it as a monitor for a gaming console (xbox or ps3) and are very happy with it.

So if the ebay item is legit and the bids don't go up too much in the next week it should be an excellent buy.

Basically the same specs as my 24" just a bigger pixel size .274 to .311.
