gday dizz, have had a look through the report... everything there does indeed look cosha. i do feel that the rundll.exe suggests that you have something not listed also running in the background - (by following my noes on my own pc i found a vundo virus opperating through this). now i dont think you have a virus - the symptoms are likely to be different. it may however be either the ws2_32.dll file or even a registry error. i found this on google:

ws2_32.dll (WinSock Library) - Details
The library file ws2_32.dll, is required by windows and is used by applications when performing TCP/IP network communication. If ws2_32.dll is unavailable, your pc will become unstable as network methods (even if not used) are present in a large number of applications.
ws2_32.dll is flagged as a system process and does not appear to be a security risk. However, removing WinSock Library may adversly impact your system.

i suggest - downloading end it all 2 at http://www.docsdownloads.com/enditall-1.htm to close all the unnecessary apps you have running when you want to game. its a very nice tool.

running a thorough virus scan on your pc

downloading and running ccleaner, http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloading to clean up your registry.

as a last option uninstall rfactor and install rfactorlite 97 megs only from http://files.filefront.com/rFactorSetup ... einfo.html

hope this helps :)

rgr m88y, have CCleaner already installed and have rFactor Lite on hand to reload - I generally try to keep the system unnecessary apps to the minimum but in Ctrl Alt Del (task Manager/processes) AVG seems to always have a heavy Mem Usage (54,400 K) (no CPU) so I tried turning that off but unless I did not shut it down properly it still appeared to be there in the back ground. I'll try that other tool to see how that goes - but I might also reinstall rFactor( which will be a challenge withall the mods, tracks etc that I'm running.

thanks m88y

If that is AVG 8, then yes it is a resource hog.
Go back to 7.5 if you can, many forums have indicated that the new AVG 8 is not as good as 7.5. Lots of people unhappy now.

Otherwise, it might be time to invest in a paid version AV like NOD32.

I know that won't fix your problem, as I don't know all the details.
Like, when does it crash?? Is it only while playing games?
What are you doing at the time of the crash i.e. are you tabbed out of game doing something and crash on return to play?

What setup do you have i.e. CPU, MEM, GC, etc are your drivers up to date for everything.

This info might help us narrow down the cause.
When was the last time you de-fragged your hard drives?
Have you run Disk cleanup to remove the crap you don't use any more?
