Windows - Make an invisible file! [XP Only]

Post by Blaze-Engaged »

Disclaimer= I am not responsible for whatever you do with this file, and if you do this in Vista, then you will have a hard time deleting it. I'm only posting this for educational purposes, and if you screw your vista up, its not my fault. It is deletable in XP. Just not Vista.

Another Quite-Useless Tutorial from Blaze-Engaged!

Ok, lets get down to business. We need this checklist:
  • Windows XP
  • A Desktop
  • A Numpad
  • A Mouse
Remember:NEVER try this on vista.

You can either Expand the tutorial, or alternately, watch the video.
1. Go to our desktop. This is where we're going to create it.

2. Press RightClick>New>Folder.

3. Then RightClick on the file and choose "Rename".

4. On your numpad, Hold Alt, and press 0160.

5. Its got an invisible name! Now rightclick on the file and choose properties

6. Then Customize>Change Icon

7. Scroll along to you see a blank spot in between pictures. Click it. Select it.

8. Apply all changes

9. You now have an invisible file!

10. Look at your file afterwards! Note: Don't delete the desktop file INSIDE the invisible file.

Hope it helped.

If you want to hide things from your kids, or just from other people you could do it.

or if you just feel like it.
