IRQ's
IRQ's
I was just in nvidia control panel looking around and found a section about the system info so i clicked on it and in the display tab it shows both my gfx cards but the first one has 16 irq's but the second one lists 0. its the same wether its in sli or not. shoud the second card have irq's? and if so how do i change it?
Baby it's not how many IRQ's (Interrupt ReQuest) your card is using, it's the IRQ number it's using. Not sure if they should be different or the same, maybe try asking Deano? I'm guessing if everything runs fine for you, you shouldn't worry about it too much.
So yeah, it's not 16 and 0 IRQ's, it's IRQ number 16 and IRQ number 0.

the reason i thought maybe my second card isnt working is firstly in 3dmark06 only one card registers, secondly it doesnt make a difference in terms of fps in bf2142 wether i have the system set to sli or not and today my mother thought her monitor had blown up so i brought it over and pluged it into the second graphics card, turned sli off and the second monitor didnt register but when i pluged it into the first card it worked just fine (turned out my parents need a new computer, several capacitors on the graphics card exploded )
Well.. I'm guessing that they should be on the same IRQ because IRQ's are shared... and from what I've read, IRQ 0 is reserved for the System Timer. Also on the nVidia forums some people report that it changed after a driver update, maybe you should revert the update if you have recently updated them, or update them if you haven't I guess.
I really have no idea what IRQ's are or what they do, I'm just looking on the net You should see iif Deano knows what it is.

i doubt it would be using 16 i think its reserved......and 0 is the system clock i think....haven't done the shizzle since my A+ cert
i wouldnt worry about it.....If i remember rightly you can turn of plug and play os in the bios and that makes your bios hanbdle it....or you can switch it on for the reverse effect.....

Theres been numerous people saying the same thing about BF2142.....some have reported that renaming the BF2142 executable to BF2.exe resolves the prblem.
so Make sure you have the latest nvidia drivers.....dont assume go and check cause they can come out quite regularly, try the rename mentioned above, And last of all you can create your own profiles for the SLI part so maybe google it....
also this is a good reference for BF2142 http://www.tweakguides.com/BF2142_1.html
also use this renderer.drawfps 1 to find your fps with sli on and off and note the difference.....also some have sadi it doesnt work unless you use capital F like......

I think i may have figured out whats been happening. it all started because i was getting black grass in CoD4 along with other graphical glitches. I have just us-installed CoD4 and reinstalled it letting it install directx ( wasnt letting it b4 cos i had installed the latest version of directx and asumed it would be fine ) so now its working fine. course mostly on low settings . Now I just need to decide on the new cards i'm going to get. any help would be gratefully accepted in my other post. thanks for the help guys.
