Deano would spend it alright  -  but you might not see a computer.

No I'm sure he (Deano) would build up a half reasonable system. eh m88y

At the moment i would run with this....maybe...possibly....but id change my mind 50 times first :)

at the moment though ive built a couple of these 1333FSB systems and must say i have been extremely impressed. At the end of the day the most important single part of a gaming system is the graphics card. That is a fairly good card....but there is always better....This system would allow you in say 6 to 12 months time to by another card thats identical and put you right back at the front again (FPS)

although i do like the AMD 6400....its not quite as good as the intel but remember video card is the most important....argh see its started already :(

ASUS P5N32-E-SLI-PLUS
CPU   E6850
Corsair TWIN2X2048-6400 2GB (2x XMS2 1GB)
Seagate 250GB 'ST3250410AS' SATA II   (16mb cache version)
500W "Zalman" ZM500-HP
Windows xp sp2 pro
viewsonic 19"
1.44 Floppy Drive
eVGA e-GeForce 8800GTS PCI-E Superclocked 320MB 320-bit DDR3

I would def go for the intel range atm it is generaly cheaper all up and is better tech. As for the GFX card I would grab me a 8800GTS as it supports DX10 and from experience using one in my m8s computer they proform well under stress. How ever if I was really going for a system that gave me the best FPS and loading times i would get OCZ Reeper RAM its the best on the market at the moment to my knowlage.

No idea why you would go for a floppy drive. Now days most drivers are way to big for one. They are outdated tech and I see no need for them. Only thing they are good for is making a you computer boot from CD so you can format and so on. But you can do that from the BIOS

You have to think head when you are upgrading. Unless you buy top of the range now, with in the next 6 months you will more then likly need to up grade again to play the new games coming out such as Crysis and so on. If I was buying parts for a system and trying to keep the cost down I would have a look at getting a SLi motherboard. they are more expencive however when it comes to upgrading all you have to do is buy the same GFX card you have already which by that time would have come down in price, then SLi it. Plus if you have the OCZ ram its SLi ready as it is. This would be a more expencive upgrade to start with but save you money down the track.

Remember the most important part of the computer is the Motherboard. Dont buy crap as it wont support the faster FSB so the better memery wont work.

Why is nothing ever easy  [smilie=furax[1].gif]

Well i went to local IT warehouse place and gave them DEANOs set up for pricing and availability. He says heres what you want and prints me out a quote

Quote 1:
Intel core 2 Quad Process Q6600
ASUS P5K-SE S775 1333FSB DDR2 SATA2 Raid G-Lan
HDD3 SEAGATE 320GB SATA2 7200RPM 16MB cache
Kingston HyperX 2GB DDR2 800Mhz low latency Kit (2x1GB)
LG 20x Dual Layer DVD-RW oem, Black
Thermaltake Soprano Silver w/windows (VB1430SWS)
Topower 1000W Power train EPS 12v 2.91 & ATX12V 2.2 version
S/W Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit OEM
LG 19" L194WT Silver 5ms Contrast 2000:1 1440x900 DVI Tilt
Logitech cordless desktop EX-90
Sapphire 512MB Radeon HD2900XT PCI Express

TOTAL= @2334.50 + $100 build

SO now he asks "is that in your budget?" No your about $400 over

he goes back and give me this one but says its no where near as good as the other one

Quote 2:
Intel core 2 Quad Process Q6600
ASUS P5K-SE S775 1333FSB DDR2 SATA2 Raid G-Lan
HDD3 SEAGATE 320GB SATA2 7200RPM 16MB cache
Kingston HyperX 2GB DDR2 800Mhz low latency Kit (2x1GB)
LG 20x Dual Layer DVD-RW oem, Black
Thermaltake Soprano Silver w/windows (VB1430SWS)
S/W Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit OEM
LG 19" L194WT Silver 5ms Contrast 2000:1 1440x900 DVI Tilt
Logitech cordless desktop EX-90
Gigabyte 640MB NX8800GTS PCI Express

Total= $1915 + $100 build

So hes dropped the Video he recommends to save money n the power supply.

Then his workmate sticks shis head in and says why dont you do this

Quote 3:
Intel core 2 Quad Process Q6600
ASUS P5K-SE S775 1333FSB DDR2 SATA2 Raid G-Lan
HDD3 SEAGATE 320GB SATA2 7200RPM 16MB cache
Kingston HyperX 2GB DDR2 800Mhz low latency Kit (2x1GB)
LG 20x Dual Layer DVD-RW oem, Black
Thermaltake Soprano Silver w/windows (VB1430SWS)
Topower 1000W Power train EPS 12v 2.91 & ATX12V 2.2 version
S/W Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit OEM
Asus 512MB Radeon ATi2900XT PCI Express
Logitech deluxe 250 desktop black
Topower 1000W Power train EPS 12v 2.91 & ATX12V 2.2 version
TOTAL= $2036 + $100 build

So drop the monitor and use a cheap ass keyboard for now. which is ok cos i planned on getting something fancy eventually

Its just to hard.. these guys are swearing by Vista cos XP wont run DirX10. The 8800 isnt crossfire ready where the 2900XT is...
