Let me give you the hot tip.
Buy a Dell.............

AND ORDER IT WITH A COPY OF UBUNTU.
One of the largest PC manufacturers have listen to the general public and are now getting ready to ship, direct to the public, with Ubuntu installed and supported.

I warned y'all.......... it's coming.

yer got that one from sharpreader bout a month ago......and was excited......but dont get vista from them with the 4 gb option as it's only capable of using 3gb in that setup (32bit)

if you're gonna go linux, Kubuntu (from the makers of Ubuntu) is much better :)

lol ther's no difference (apart from the KDE desktop)

or you could just get ubuntu and;;;;

sudo aptitude install kubuntu-desktop

and have the best of both worlds.

actually i do like the KDE desktop better bur for your normal run of the mill person.....gnome is probably a better choice.....it's one of those personal choices again  [smilie=laugh[2].gif]
