New system
New system
I just got my tax in and i'm looking at getting a new system. I'm going to get a prebuilt one from http://www.auspcmarket.com.au but I cant set my mind on which one. The biggest question I have is is the gtx260 better, as good as or worse than a 9800gtx? I've seen sites comparing them and none has given the same answer.

This is the one i'm leaning towards but...

This is what its (probably) gona look like.
A Gigabyte GA-EP45-DS3P LGA775 iP45 M/B, with Intel Core2 Quad Q9300 2.5Ghz CPU, and Geil 4096MB DDR2-800 Twin Pack PC-6400 240-pin DDR2 RAM, 2x 2048MB, 5-5-5-15 (Thats 4GB!!!), a Gainward GeForce GTX260 896mb DDR3 PCI-E x16 video card, spitting out the vids a 150Gb Western Digital Raptor 10,000 RPM SATA Hard Drive,spinning for the system and programs, (I'll also be putting in my 500Gb and 200Gb for storage).
All this is going in a Antec 300 Black ATX case, 3x 5.25, 6x 3.5, 14cm exhaust fan, 12cm fans, front IO ports and door, with a Corsair 650W TX-650 ATX Power Supply, feeding the juice and 2 x Zalman ZM-F3 120mm Fans keeping it all cool while operating MS Windows Vista Home Basic 64-bit DVD w/SP1
It'll also be putting a DVD burner into it but i've already got them and I'll be using my old monitor and such for the time being.
Any feed back and suggestions will be appreciated

Definetely sounds like something i want.
Considering my computer is only 1.8Ghz and 1GB Ram.
Maybe you could (if you really wanted to, and) go like an all-out gamer and buy a 3.3Ghz Processor.
_______
I have heard from all my friends, and by some adults aswell that vista is very Resource hungry.
if you look at game packets with the specifications, then it shows that aswell.
The people at EB games and GameTraders, even the people that work at Dick smith said that if you "roll back" (downgrade) to XP your computer will go faster.
