Making background on photoshop for dumbies.

Post by ADF-DaNi »

I use brushes for my backgrounds so google "photoshop brushes". Here is one of the sites I used and I'll use for the tutorial. All the red circle is what you mouse or pointer will click on. (I have to tell dumbies everything)
http://www.photoshoproadmap.com/Photosh ... popular/1/
Find a bursh you like and download into your "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\Prests\Brushes\Adobe Photoshop Only" folder.
Next open up photoshop.

Click on your brush icon on the left side of the program.
Image

Then click on the Brush tab on the top right cornor. Hold down on the black arrow and move your pointer down to "Load Brushes"
Image

Click on the bush you want to upload. Then click on the load button.
Image

Now that it has been uploaded as a bursh you can start making your background. Click on "New" up on the top left cornor or the program.
Image

Decide what size you want for you background. (sig or wallpaper) Then click "OK"
Image

Now you can use the brushes. Go back to your brush icon on the left, click up on the brush tab on the top right, and chose the brush you want to use.
Image

Then go to your new "sheet of paper" and click on it to place your brush/pattern on the new image.
Image

You can change the color of the background by clicking on the bottom color box on the left. Chose the color you want then click "OK"
Image

Then just color the whole "sheet of paper" until it is all one color.
Image

You can also change the color of the brush. Click on the top color box on the left, chose your color, and then click "OK"
Image

Now you can place the brush down on the "sheet of paper" and create a wonderful background.
Image

Your background could look something like this. Not exactly like this but similar to it. Just using different brushes and colors.
